Parking at Frankfurt and München Airports: prices and tips
At both airports you save considerably by booking your space online in advance, and it pays to watch the clock when dropping off or picking up. This guide covers the parking areas, current rates, getting to the terminal and the rules for short-stay zones.
Key points
- In Frankfurt the parking prices apply from 1 July 2026; in München the standard rates are those valid as of 1 April 2026.
- Spaces booked online are usually cheaper than on-site rates at both airports, and in München the code P8-2026 gives an extra 25% off for entries from 01.09.2026 up to and including 31.12.2026.
- The Drop-off Area in Frankfurt is free for up to 10 minutes; in München the first 10 minutes in the terminal forecourt are free on the first and second entry per calendar day.
- From the Economy car parks in München, the free bus route 635 runs every 10 minutes from 3:42 to 0:52 to the central area T1/T2.
- Holiday Parking in Frankfurt is available online only and for stays of at least 3 days.
What to do before you set off
If you want to park at Frankfurt or München Airport, above all do one thing: book your space online in advance. Both airports say that online prices are generally lower than the rates you pay at the barrier without a reservation. You also get a guaranteed space.
The key steps in brief:
- Choose your parking area by length of trip: terminal car park for short trips and maximum convenience, Holiday Parking or Economy Parking for longer holidays.
- Check your vehicle height, as many car parks in München have a maximum entry height of 2 metres.
- Book entry and exit times with enough margin around departure and arrival.
- Know the free time in the short-stay zones when dropping off and picking up.
In Frankfurt, the parking prices given here apply from 1 July 2026, according to Fraport. In München, the standard rates are those valid as of 1 April 2026, and the airport reserves the right to make changes.

From the car park to the terminal
München
From the Economy car parks, bus route 635 takes you directly and free of charge to the central area with Terminals 1 and 2. It runs every 10 minutes from 3:42 to 0:52, and the transfer takes 6 to 8 minutes. From one area, the footpath to the bus stop leads through parking area P43; another area is served from the Parkhaus P44 / LabCampus stop.
Alternatively, use the S-Bahn. From P51, a signposted footpath of about 800 metres takes you to the Besucherpark station, and from another car park there is a covered walkway. From Besucherpark, the S1 and S8 run every 10 minutes to the central area. The transfer is free for you and everyone travelling with you if you show your parking booking confirmation, so keep it to hand.
Frankfurt
The terminal car parks in Frankfurt are right next to the terminals. Fraport explains, terminal by terminal, how to get from the Terminal 1 and Terminal 3 car parks, the Terminal 2 underground car park or the Gateway Gardens car park to your departure terminal and back on its transfer page. Check your combination of parking area and terminal there in advance, especially for Holiday Parking North and East.
How to book online
Frankfurt
You book on parken.frankfurt-airport.com. Even from a stay of 1 day, booking online can be cheaper than the standard price, especially for weekend trips. You pay online and use the QR code on your Mobile Parking Card to enter and leave the booked area. Free cancellation is possible up to 24 hours before the reservation starts.
München
In München you book via the airport’s parking page. Cancellation and rebooking are free until shortly before entry. An example from the rate overview: 7 days’ parking from €59.99 when booked online. You can view existing bookings on a management page.
To mark the opening of the new P8 car park, the voucher code P8-2026 gives 25% off online bookings with an entry date from 01.09.2026 up to and including 31.12.2026. The discount applies to P8 and many other car parks.
Dropping off and picking up: short-stay zones
Frankfurt
The Drop-off Areas are at Terminal 1 by P35/P39 and at Terminal 3 by P61/P63. Stopping is free for up to 10 minutes. After that, the price list gives €3.50 up to 15 minutes, €6 up to 30 minutes, €8.50 up to 45 minutes, €17 up to 60 minutes and €17 for each further hour or part thereof.
For longer waits there is the short-stay car park P31 at Terminal 1, with the same steps up to 60 minutes, then €17 per hour or part thereof, up to a maximum of €55 on the first and each further day.
München
In the T1 and T2 terminal forecourts and in P10, P22, P27 and P28:
- First and second entry per calendar day: 0 to 10 minutes €0.00, 11 to 20 minutes €3.00.
- From the third entry: 0 to 10 minutes €3.00, 11 to 20 minutes €6.00.
- Each further 10 minutes: plus €3.00.
- 1 day: €180.00, each further day plus €180.00.
A maximum stay of 1 hour is recommended. If you need longer, the airport advises using the car parks or underground car parks.
Checks and additional charges
In Frankfurt, the barrier recognises your ticket by its QR code. If you overrun your booked period, you have 6 hours’ grace as a goodwill gesture before an additional charge becomes due. Fraport explains in its FAQ how additional payment or changing your period works. In München, the rate is calculated in 24-hour blocks from the time of entry, so a late return can cost an extra day.
Exceptions and discounts
All München car parks have accessible spaces at terminal access level or near the lifts. Holders of a severe disability pass receive a 50 per cent discount on the parking charges published on site in certain areas, including the terminal parking area, the holiday parking area and the stopping zones at Terminals 1 and 2. München Airport also states: under 5 hours free, over 5 hours 50 per cent off the current rate. The discount is not granted for online bookings, for extra services such as EV charging or valet, or in special areas such as XXL Parking. You claim it at the parking control centre in the central area, level 03. If you are dropping off a pass holder, you must report via the call button on entry and show the pass.
